I first picked up a camera in '94, inspired by my geology professors I began building a slide collection to use in teaching science. Early images were mostly varves, glacial erratics, and eskers. It took me a few years to realize that people, their interactions and the moments when they think the camera is pointed somewhere else are infinitely more interesting and fun to capture.  A few years later I began to combine my passion for photography and education and launched Photorec.tv and a Youtube channel all about photography and photography gear.  Now, in addition to running my own business, I teach photography as a lead instructor with Mckay Photography Academy and together with several other professional photographers founded the Photo Enthusiast Network - a fantastic community and resource for photographers of all levels.   Seattle is home and I absolutely love the Pacific Northwest and endless photo opportunities close by.
